Waiting on Wednesday: A Monster Calls and The Pledge

Another sweet Waiting on Wednesday button by My Cute Bookshelf. One of these days, I'll get around to making my own!
I'm ready to share my upcoming, not yet released, have to reads with you guys! Thanks to Jill at Breaking the Spine for hosting this awesome meme!

Here's one review from Goodreads that immediately hooked me: "It's a good thing I read this at home, because that kind of crying is best done in private. It'll take a while for me to process this beautiful, horrible, heart-breaking, life-affirming book enough to write a review” (Crowinator).
There's a monster outside of Conor's window, but it's not the monster of his dreams. It is a wild monster that wants the truth. Patrick Ness finished this book for Siobhan Dowd after she passed away from cancer.

Country: Ludiana
Time: the future
Classes are strictly divided by separate langauges. The punishment for speaking the native tongue of a person of another class--immediate execution. Charlaina understands every language, a secret that could prove deadly. In an underground club where she can let loose, she meets Max (love connection!), who speaks a language she's never before heard. Her secret is almost discovered. As the country's violence escalates, Charlie could be its one chance for freedom from a terrible government.

What are you reading this week? I can always make my TBR list longer!

I was reading about A Monster Calls the other day and it sounds pretty amazing. Not to mention that cover is very creepy.

This is the first I've heard of The Pledge, but that also sounds pretty awesome. Good choices!

I hadn't heard of A Monster Calls until reading this post, so thanks for sharing! It sounds really good. I'm also really excited to read The Pledge. I'm hooked on dystopian books and this one sounds like it has a great romance as well!

Great picks!
